Violin music

This article is designed to help you narrow your search for violin songs.  We will discuss music genres and highlight some of the differences.  When you know what you want in specific terms, it becomes much easier to find.

Are you a violinist or a fiddle player?  What is the difference?  How does the answer to those questions affect my search for violin songs?

While there is virtually no difference between a violin and a fiddle, the distinction between the instrumentalists can be vast.  That difference is simply a matter of personal taste.  Musicians who lean toward a classical genre would consider themselves a violinist, and would therefore be looking for violin songs.  Fiddle players, on the other hand, would be looking for folk music, Irish tunes, etc.    You should also be able to locate violin songs among inspirational, gospel, and even some jazz genres.
